original shrine entrance

from the original shrine (http://www.student.unimelb.edu.au/~chi1/shrine%20to%20group%20a.html)

once upon a time, a fine winters day found a crowd of bright-eyed and brushy-tailed young girls and boys bored to tears, sitting in the lecture theatre within the hive of activity that is the royal melbourne hospital. amidst the life-saving, dim-sims consuming, ego-stroking irrelevance around them, these kids were being introduced to clinical medicine. but suddenly they were saved from mind-numbing doctors and it was time to meet their new groups! and thus, group a came together for the first time...

...but certainly not the last. together they went on great adventures; conquered dingy pubs filled with weird bearded men and annoying 70s pop music; discovered the joy of ecgs (under captain ecg), inguinal hernia repairs (i swear it was as big as my head), keystone island perforator advancement flaps (thank you for explaining that one to us, mr behan) the meaning of life (ahh, my hero dr ding); helped each other along the twisted fiends of the hospital system (including but not limited to the ambulator, greenie, chuckles, and mr fields); fell in love (pekin luvs baz 4 eva, lou stalking dean); saved some lives (yes i am talking about the crazy old woman at the girls house in ballarat); drank too much bad coffee; were dumb together (lou irving: 'i'm a bit worried about you guys, you're pretty laid back); but managed to turn over new leaves and pass those blasted exams. true, soon they will become doctors even if they don't know anything (they say its okay to kill a couple), but they shall always remember the good old days when they were the scum at the bottom of the medical ladder together.

this is a tribute, nay, a shrine, to the greatest group of people since the wiggles. behold! and worship:
