as time goes by

- congratulations to lou and nick on the birth of their baby boy edward! they will be heading over to iowa (!) next year for nick's fellowship. and maybe a second (american) baby? :-)

- min is the aged care fellow at st vincent's this year. her days are filled with looking after cute elderly patients, teaching clueless medical students and spoiling eugene and ponyo.

- baz and paula had a shotgun wedding and also managed to squeeze his seventeenth ankle operation in between chasing the formula one racers around albert park in the medical car and studying for his anaesthetics exam. busy boy ryan strikes again!

- brumbles is on to her second year of advanced training at box hill. she's thriving on a diet of clinical work and research. she's also looking for mr right. where could he be hiding?

- chi passed his exams, started his advanced training in palliative care, even bought a house. has he finally stopped pretending to be a rebel and finally started conforming to social expectations? or is this just a sign that he's becoming more mature and responsible? nah...!

- xiang is also in her final year of aged care training. what will she do next year? zouk is still the main man in her life - but she also has a new man! will the parents finally approve? will she finally find true everlasting happiness?

- xiu flew in and out of melbourne like the pocket rocket she was, is and always will be. super-smart, super-energised, super-distracted. pretending her exams are a long long way away... and who is this fella always commenting on her food posts? ahh...

updates

- brumbles beat more than 50 other candidates to get one of the six renal advanced training jobs in the state. incredible! she'll be staying on at the mothership aka rmh.

- baz is also heading back to the mothership to continue his anaesthetics training and sit his part 1 exams. if he can find the time between formula 1 and kite surfing, that is...

- lou has long put her studying days behind her; instead shes busy holding back the tide in taylors lakes (as a gp in the front line) and busy planning her next holiday!

- xiang and min are settling into their advanced training in geriatrics at the austin/st vincents and western hospitals. eugene passed his exams and will be doing neurology training next year! yay! zouk is a naughty little boy and frustating mummy endlessly...

- chi still has no idea how to study. but apparently he is doing the physicians exam next year.

- xiu is slowly coming to terms with the fact that she might be awesome at her job as a ed reg after all, like everyone has been telling her all these years. settled in brisbane (bought a house!) she looks like she might never leave the sunshine state...

- lubie will be doing neurosurg training after he finishes his phd!!! woo yoo!!!

- and finally, after a terribly stressful year at work, our little adopted group a groupie deb took this year off to relax. shes will hopefully ease back into things at frankston with the help of workcover. fingers crossed she will find 2011 a more pleasant year...

barbeque set

we're all so busy these days, all doing our own things, at different stages in our careers and lives, and scattered all over the place. but sometimes, our paths manages to cross again, and we meet up for a hour, a hurried dinner that is nonetheless filled with warm and fuzziness.

- baz, spending a whole year in ballarat doing anaesthetics, charming his consultants with his tales of the racetrack, stoked about driving the medical car at the formula 1 this year ("how fast does the car go?" "oh not that fast, i won't be going much faster than 200k's")

- brumbles, well and truly counting down towards d-day, studying her butt off for the physicians' exam

- chi, still on cruise control but feeling a little uneasy about it, tries to figure out how to study again after 4 years off...

- min, at the end of her first week as an advanced trainee in geriatrics, is having niggling doubts about whether it will be enough to stimulate her for the rest of her career. and she's incredibly annoyed about "the whole research thing". what subspecialty should she get into? the rest of us immediately suggest: (in) continence

- xiang, also starting advanced training in geriatrics, but first-up doing palliative care consults. a little heart broken after the latest episode of parents meddling, but at least her zouk loves her (and is growing up at an incredible rate)...

we gossiped about the others and bitched about the system. ahh... i love group a. and i love korean barbeque.
